Singaporean stocks close 0.15 pct lower

SINGAPORE, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.15 percent or 4.82 points to close at 3199.89.

A total of 1.08 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 927.3 million Singaporean dollars (about 678.55 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 193 to 182.

The STI index closed down 0.15 percent or 4.73 points to close at 3204.71 on Monday.

Stock trading of Singapore Exchange will be suspended on Wednesday for the Hari Raya Haji holiday. Enditem
