Then and now: aerial views of China's Qingdao

Combined photos show aerial views of Qingdao Port in Qingdao, east China's Shandong Province, taken respectively in 1996 (upper) and on May 7, 2018. Development of the coastal city can be seen from the file photos of Qingdao taken by photographer Zhang Yan on a helicopter since 1996 and the new ones taken by drones. Qingdao, as one of the first Chinese cities to open up, was an important port for the Belt and Road, and that people could sense the extensive, profound local culture and the vitality of China's reform and opening-up.
