KABUL, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Construction work on road projects has been completed in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Afghanistan's Balkh province, state-run Bakhtar News Agency reported Thursday.
Valued at 39 million afghanis (about 600,000 U.S. dollars), the newly completed roads are expected to significantly improve local transportation, the report said.
The upgraded road networks are enhancing connectivity between rural areas and urban markets, and facilitating regional development, the report added.
The Afghan government is continuing to implement development projects across various provinces, aiming to strengthen infrastructure, promote economic growth, and create employment opportunities for residents. ■
