COLOMBO, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Sri Lanka, including foreign commercial loans for investments in Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI) approved enterprises, increased by 138 percent in the first nine months of 2025 compared with the same period in 2024, the BOI announced Monday.
FDI reached 827 million U.S. dollars between January and September 2025, according to the BOI.
This performance reflects both the growing confidence of new investors and the continued commitment of existing investors to expand operations under a strengthened business environment, the BOI said. ■
