ADDIS ABABA, March 31 (Xinhua) -- Ethiopia and China have been enjoying strong relationship and cooperating in different areas, one of which is human capacity building, according to officials from the governments of Ethiopia and China.

The Economic and Commercial Counselor's Office of the Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia on late Friday organized a briefing on the 2018 human resource development cooperation under the China-aid framework.

Ethiopia and China have been moving in the fast lane, with rapid progress in all areas of pragmatic cooperation in many fields, said Liu Yu, Economic and Commercial Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia.

In line with the cooperation between the two countries in human resource development, China has provided training programs to more than 5,500 Ethiopians in China, under the China-Aid Framework, covering various fields, including, education, health, governance, agriculture and manufacturing, according to the Chinese Economic and Commercial Counselor Office in Ethiopia.

Speaking to Xinhua, Ayelech Eshete, Ethiopia's State Minister of Public Service and Human Resource, said Ethiopia and China have been enjoying strong relationship and cooperation in different areas, including human capacity building.

The state minister also expressed firm belief that the overall cooperation between the two countries, and on human resource development in particular, would continue in a strengthened manner in the future.

The training programs offered by China to Ethiopians aim at improving managerial skills and practical techniques for government officials, senior managerial personnel and specialized technicians of Ethiopia, according to the Chinese commercial counselor.

With the knowledge they have acquired in China, Ethiopians are contributing to economic development in their country, while playing role in deepening the friendship and cooperation forged between the two countries.

"In the context of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, China will keep striving to sponsor more Ethiopians to study in China, and strengthen win-win cooperation with Ethiopia in all areas," said Liu.

"As Ethiopia is an old and true friend, the Chinese government and people are ready to join hands with the Ethiopian government and people to build a more beautiful future with more shared interests," she added.

In 2018, China provides hundreds of training programs at multilateral level, and 25 shot-term programs will be held for Ethiopia, in particular, at bilateral level.

The training areas at the bilateral level with Ethiopia include industrial park management, investment promotion, railway management, hydroelectric technologies, poverty reduction, urban development, science and technology, industrial technologies, social governance and media technology.
